This bottle is made with a three part mould and is sealed with a driven cork. Vatting: A now disused term for the blending of malt whisky or rum with other malt whisky or rum without the addition of other ingredients.  The contents of his bottle are likely Demerara Rums from Guyana.  The rum is a very dark and rich ruddy colour and is clear and completely free from debris, residue, sediment or floaters.

The supplementary images for this entry show the brewery and the company shop c. 1905 about the time this bottle was filled.  The letterhead is from slightly later and the Cognac also bearing their label demonstrates that Tadcaster carried a range of spirits to complement their beer and mineral water offerings.
