Bottled by Vernet in Marseille towards the end of the 1930s, as production ceased in 1940.  Vernet was founded in 1874 and this rum would have been produced in France but based upon Martinique cane sugar.  The outbreak of WWII would have made it difficult, if not impossible, to import the sugar from Martinique required to continue production.
