Cynar is a classic Italian Amaro bitter liqueur which is made up from 13 different herbs and plants. The main ingredient in the recipe is Artichoke (Italian: Cynara scolymus) which gives the drink its name and distinctive dark-brown colour. The drink was launched in 1952 and today is owned and manufactured by the Campari Group.
