Named after the reported creator of 'wheated bourbon' William Larue Weller is produced by Buffalo Trace and replaces spicy rye with wheat in the traditional mashbill to create a smooth sippin' whiskey.

In 2016, W. L. Weller 12YO was repackaged in a taller and slimmer bottle.  This is the pre-2016 bottling.
