Distilled and Mellowed in the Slow Old-Fashioned Way by Four Roses Distilling Co. Louisville, Ky.  This bourbon has been aged for six years in barrel, which is four years over the minimum requirement for a straight whiskey.  In addition, this bourbon has remained in bottle for over thirty years.  Not only does it capture the expression from the 1970s ago, but the bourbon will have benefited from all those extra years.  Imagine being told you only have months to live, but carrying on for over thirty years.  That's how good it is!

Even older bottles would carry the words "Spiritus Frumenti" which translates from the Latin as "Spirit of Wheat", as shown here:



This is one fine bourbon!
