An historically-interesting, rare and delicious Chartreuse! Distilled in Aigues-Vives (Gard) by Vignal as a base for Chartreuse liqueurs, this eau-de-vie was not commercially available at the time it was originally produced because the monks feared that they would be accused of selling pure alcohol. It was only finally released on the market c. 1990.
