This is an incredibly rare bottle of Der Lachs "The Original" Danzig Goldwasser that we believe dates from the 1920s to 1930s.  The initials I W L that span the Star of David emblem on the shoulder label and seal refers to Isaac Wed-Ling in Isaac Wed-Ling Wwe. & Eydam Dirck Hekker.

This particular bottle was originally imported into the UK by S. F. & O. Hallgarten, London, E.C.3.  The offices of which were in the thoroughfare known by the wonderfully illustrative name of Crutched Friars.  This particular wine merchants were instrumental in introducing and promoting various German wines to the British public.
