1826:  the year Thomas Jefferson, wine enthusiast, passed away.  On 5 April, 2014, noted Madeira specialist Richard Mason wrote of this wine:  “One of a set of solera wines released in the 1950s and 1960s. This was probably bottled between 1956 and 1960 and is based on the 1836 Campanário that Walter Grabham left to the Blandy family on his death in 1955.  Deep mahogany colour; rich smoky nose, autumnal bonfires and a touch of forest floor; rich lemon and lime marmalade with lovely mouthfeel and texture, leading to a delicate marmalade finish.  16.5/20”.
