This Boxed Royal Doulton Character Jug Ceramic Decanter modelled by J. G. Tongue was originally released in an edition of 5000 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone of the William Grant distillery in 1887 by its namesake (1839-1923).  William Grant & Sons Ltd. remains an independent, family-owned Scottish company which distills Scotch whisky and other selected categories of spirits. It is now run by the descendants of the founder and is the largest of the handful of Scotch whisky distillers remaining in family ownership.
