W.A. Ross & Brother Ltd was a whisky blending and bottling firm based in Leith, Scotland, with additional offices in London. Operating under their well-known 'Great Auk's Head' trade mark, the company produced a range of proprietary bottlings during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, typical of the Leith trade which was central to the Scotch whisky blending and export industry of that era.
Ross's Brand Pure Old Cherry Whisky is a historic proprietary expression described on the label as being made from old Scotch whisky and finest cherries. The bottle carries the W.A. Ross & Brother Ltd name, Leith and London, along with their signature and trade mark capsule. The label states a volume of 12½ fl. oz. This is a rare and antiquarian bottling of considerable age.
