We know the rough date of this bottle because of the address 1 Woodville Gardens, Ealing W5. The Wine Society temporarily moved its offices to this residential house in 1940 after those in Holles Street, Cavendish Square were badly damaged in a bombing raid on Oxford Street (also destroying their earliest wine list and other documents).
We imagine that this seductively coloured rum is Jamaican!
