A historical wine merchant from the Hanover area in Germany that existed until around the year 1900. It was founded in 1828 by Hermann Heinrich Siemering who founded the Adolphshof estate, which included a winery and tavern for which it imported rum. The sponsor of the name was the governor of the Kingdom of Hanover Adolph of Cambridge, brother of George IV, King of the United Kingdom. Siemering expanded the winery to include a tavern. Today, the Adolphshof is the oldest organically managed farm in the Hanover region; it was converted to biodynamic farming as early as 1952.
