The diminutive size (c. 50cl) and the lidded metal stopper suggest that this decanter may have been intended for Branch water to accompany Bourbon!  

We do not clean the barware we acquire, preferring to protect its patina and to leave it unrestored.  Once the dirt is gone so too is the antique aspect.
